maybe it's just bc I grew up in a house of milk lovers but it's very obvious to me when someone is drinking from the teat of the "got milk?" campaign (pun intended) because I say that I don't like the taste of milk n they lose their mind
#rambles#cursing#personal#not ml#this was all just a ruse to post that pun im gonna be honest#but also i grew up believing that Everyone drinks milk and i was the odd one out#like okay fam yall literally all drink so much milk which isn't even BAD but wtf#also can we discuss how lactose intolerance is like. not like ''you have it or you don't''#and is more of a ''everyone has a threshold of lactose they can digest naturally and it's important to be aware of when you surpass that''#bc like i stg my sister didn't realize that she's lactose intolerant for *years* and if the public actually understood lactose intolerance#then it would probably be a lot more normal to go ''oh i've had a dairy heavy day let me take a lactaid''#like me and my sister? probably the same level of lactose intolerant#but i don't run into this problem bc i don't consume dairy as much as her#and this wouldn't even BE a problem if people just fucking understood lactose intolerance#jesus christ on a goddamn bicycle#that really came outta nowhere i'm sorry#i can explain how lactose intolerance works when i'm more coherent#i just have Thougths on this topic apparently#i have thoughts on everything but i would not have been table to tell you how strongly i feel about this before this rant

Between my sister and I there’s so much we can’t eat. We have mitochondria disease and gastropresis and she can barely tolerant anything while I am testing what I can and cannot eat.
I can’t have anything leafy green. No carrots. Tomato skins. Apples. It literally doesn’t digest. Not even carrot juice. It binds me up so bad I cannot go to the bathroom for three days. My sister has a colostomy because of being backed up and her gut literally bursting and she ended up septic and in a coma for two weeks.
On top of this I am highly alergic to pork and items high in sodium and nitrates. It brings on migraines so severe that literally morphine does nothing and it lasts for days. It’s the same thing with sugar substitutes. All of them.
I’m also alergic to dairy but it’s not as bad. It changes my personality to the point that I was a small well behaved child and I was given milk instead of lactaid and I became an utter terror. I mean I was actually physically hurting other kids. As an adult I used a small bit in my coffee because my boyfriends mom didn’t have lactaid and I thought i was fine but it turns out my jokes were actually verbally abusive to him. She kept lactaid at the house for me. Yougurt if it touches my skin causes a severe rash. Like bleeding itchy painful rash. As an adult I’ve started cutting all dairy out. Which is hard as someone who grew up Italian and now I am unable to eat cheese but since cutting it all off I’ve felt better.
I will say thankfully people at the restaurants I go to have been great. I even found a Chinese restaurant in Massillon, OH that had wontons made with goat instead of pork and their fried rice had no meat in it at all.
But yeah. If we say we can’t have something or just request it taken out. Do it. Don’t fuck with peoples food.
DO NOT DO THIS.
This makes me so angry.
If you work in a movie theater and you do this I have no respect for you.
My younger brother is Type 1 Diabetic.
When we go to a movie theater, we always get him diet soda. If he were to get regular when we asked for diet, we would not give him the insulin he would need for it. If that happens, his blood sugar level could go so high he could go into a coma, go blind, or even die.
If somebody gave him regular soda instead of diet without telling us, that person could be responsible for a nine-year-old being killed or blinded.
Just thinking about that makes me so angry. I get scared every time we take him to a movie in case the people working there saw this picture and decide to do the same thing.
Please signal boost this so people know.
